Coalescing filters are used in industrial applications to separate two fluids in different phases, from one another. The phases can be liquid-liquid or liquid-gas. Coalescers are often used for the removal of water/oil from airstreams and hydrocarbon fluids by combining dispersed water particles into larger water droplets. They are used for the filtration of aviation jet fuel, process streams in petrochemical plants and refineries, and in systems where natural gas is produced or used.
